MONDAY 4/5
"The Fantastic Mr. Fox": The animated children's
book comes to life in this Wes Anderson film.
Showing all week at the State Theatre, TC. Check

TUESDAY 4/6
YP Undercover Night Out:
Join the TC Young
Professionals at Red Mesa Grill, TC, at 5:30pm
for social networking, happy hour specials and
giveaways. No cost to attend.

The Status of Women in the Muslim World:
Featuring Ghazala Munir, of the Interfaith Dialogue
and the Religious Pluralism Project at GVSU, will
present a program, followed by a Q & A. Light
refreshments served, 6pm. Program starts at
6:30pm. Held at the Traverse Area District Library,
TC. Call 943-7999 for more info.

Fountain Making with Recycled Items: Hosted
by the Juniper Garden Club at the Little Red
School House, Rapid City, noon.

Little Traverse Home Builders Association:
Annual dinner held at Odawa Hotel, Petoskey, at
6pm. Meet the 12 candidates running for State
Office. Keynote by Dawn Crandall, Legislative
Affairs Director for the Michigan Association of
Home Builders. Admission, $10.

Brown Bridge Quiet Area Hike: Hike 2-5 miles
through the Boardman River area, from 6-7:30pm.
Sara Cockrell of the Grand Traverse Hiking Club

WEDNESDAY 4/7
NMC's Drag for a Cause:
Both males and
females will perform in a variety of acts to benefit
Pete's Place, the Teens Homeless Shelter in TC.
The show starts at 8pm in Milliken Auditorium
of the Dennos Museum Center, TC. Cost, $4 in
advance for students, $5 for non-students; and
$10 at the door. Call 920-3449.

"30 by 20": Traverse City Light and Power will
present what was learned after subjecting renewable
energy suggestions from previous meetings
at the Hagerty Center, TC, at 7pm. Visit tclp.org.

THURSDAY 4/8
"Nature, Climate Change, & the Problem of
Agriculture":
Wes Jackson, founder of the Land
Institute in Salinas, Kansas, will speak at the State
Theatre, 6:30-8pm. He will discuss the shifting of
agriculture and how we can go back to where the
practice started.

International Student Dinner: International students
from NMC will help serve a buffet dinner of
cuisine from their native countries at the Hagerty
Center, TC, at 6pm. Tickets, $20 for adults; $7 for
