Downtown Art Walk: Held in Traverse City, 5-
9pm. Showcasing 18 art exhibits along Front Street
with refreshments, food and music. Purchase a
commemorative wine glass & proceeds will benefit
the Downtown Public Art projects. Catch the
Overtones CD Relase Party at Art & Soul Gallery.

NY Times Best Selling Author Presentation:
Doug Stanton, author of In Harm's Way and Horse
Soldiers, will be at Cadillac Wexford Public Library,
7pm. Free.
2010 eddi Awards: Celebration gala held at the
Crooked Tree Arts Center, Petoskey, at 6pm.

"The Truth About Energy, the Economy & You":
Energy expert and author Richard Heinberg will
give a presentation on the limits of oil production
and how increasing oil costs will impact many
aspects of our lives, including food and agriculture.
This free lecture is happening at the Oleson Center
on the Campus of Northwestern Michigan College,

Society and biologist Kathy Bricker search for constellations,
Jupiter and its moon, along with Uranus

Annual Harvest Dinner & Live Auction: Hosted
by the Alden Men's Club at the Helena Township

30th Annual Juried Fine Arts Exhibition:
Opening for Crooked Tree Art Center's annual
exhibit of fine arts from artists around the region.
Held at the art center's location in Petoskey, 4-
6pm. Runs through Nov. 6.

Guided Salmon Tour: Todd Kalish from the
Michigan DNRE will give a guided tour of the
Boardman River Weir, 1-2pm. Learn about salmon
life cycles, function of the weir and ecology of the
river. $5 suggested donation. Program meets at

Friends of the Jordan Annual Celebration:
Exhibit featuring 140 photos entered in the
Treasures of the Jordan Photography Contest.
Includes live entertainment by Robert Johnson,

Dirty Dog Dash: Three mile race through the
mud, over barriers and around obstacles at
Boyne Mountain. Portion of race proceeds benefit

3rd Annual BBQ & Brew Festival: Held in downtown
Glen Arbor, noon-6pm, featuring barbeque,
beer samples from local breweries and live music.

Kids Creek Invasive Species Plant Removal:
Learn about the devastating effects these invasive
plants have on our environment while pulling them
out in Kids Creek Park, TC, 8am-noon. Register

Indie Craft Fair: Local and national crafters will
showcase their work at InsideOut Gallery, TC,
11am-7pm. Free, for all ages.

Author Signing: Lisa Favors, author of "Women
on Board Cruising" -- the story of 25 female baters
and their trials and tribulations of long-range
cruising. Held at Horizon Book, TC, 2-4pm.

Annual Walk to Remember: For families who
have had a miscarriage, stillbirth or newborn
death. Short program with music, followed by
a walk along Boardman Lake. Gather at the
Traverse Area District Library, 11am.

Leland Heritage Celebration: Held 10am-4pm,
in downtown Leland, featuring local musicians,
whitefish chowder, classic boats and more.

4th Annual Kids Safety Day: All ages are welcome
to the Great Lakes Children's Museum, TC,
from noon-4pm, for demos and hands-on activities
geared to safety. Safety officers and first responders
will be on site with their vehicles and equipment.
Free and open to the public.

One Accord: Bluegrass gospel performance at
Horizon Books, TC, 8:30-10:30pm. Free.
Newcomers Bike Ride: Join others new to the
TC area for a bike ride on Mackinaw Island,

Harvest Stompede Vineyard Run & Wine Tour:
Run through the vineyards of Ciccone Vineyard,
9am; and sample wines from the wineries of
Leelanau Peninsula. Tickets for the wine tour are
