2008 National Cherry Festival, Cherry Royale Parade

Celebrating 84 years of tradition, the Touchstone Energy Junior Royale and DTE Energy Cherry Royale Parades will again return to the streets of downtown Traverse City.
More than 50,000 viewers will stand curbside enjoying time with family and friends while watching high stepping marching bands, larger-than-life floats, colorful walking units and royalty pass them by in historic downtown Traverse City.

2009 National Cherry Festival: Global Wine Pavilion

Join Master Sommelier Ron Edwards and Chef Dan Marsh in a Global Wine Pavilion 'Warm Up' at Red Ginger on Wednesday, April 14, 2010.
Advanced pre-paid reservations, limited to the first 200 people, are $20 and allow you five $4.00 tastes. Additional tastes are also available for $4.00 per taste.


Blue Angels in Traverse City 2008

The 84th National Cherry Festival Air Show, sponsored by Cherry Capital Airport, Northern Michigan Toyota Dealers, Sam's Club, and Charter Communications on Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4 for an exciting airshow, featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.

Rotating Art at the City Opera House
Sharlene Kruger will display her abstract paintings during the month of March. Exhibits will be open for viewing during normal office hours (Tuesday-Friday, 11am-5pm) and during shows.

Artists sketch or paint musicians performing live music. Patrons can enjoy music and purchase artworks hot off the tablet or palette. A $5-$10 donation appreciated.

Open for Bids
On November 7 Artcenter TC hosted a benefit concert for ISLAND, featuring Michael Beauchamp and the Barn Roughs. Local artists Lindy Bishop, Terry Dickinson, and Kaye Krapohl painted during the concert, rotating to each other's canvas every three songs. Based on the theme of Community Resilience, together these three artists created beautiful, one-of-a-kind artwork. Each piece is displayed at Artcenter and is available for bid. Please stop by our gallery at 720 S. Elmwood to view each work.


The 2010 Wine with Artists Series
at the Wine Trail Art Gallery & Madwoman’s Attic in uptown Suttons Bay is looking for spring-fall art and crafts instructors for 2-hours in length course offerings at $45 per session per attendee (up to 3 sessions per course), fees split. The series offers creative classes – the more offbeat and unique in concept the better - for adult participants who want to explore fine arts/crafts skills in the company of amiable folks and local wines in beautiful Suttons Bay Village.
