present her book "Bay View: An American Idea" at

An Evening with Sebastian Junger: Best-selling
author of "The Perfect Storm" and "A Death in
Belmont" will discuss his literary process, as well
as his experience as a reporter covering stories in
Afghanistan, Sierra Leone and other dangerous

An Evening of Jazz: Chateau Chantal, TC, will
host a free preview of their Jazz At Sunset
series, featuring the Jeff Haas Quintet, from
7-9:30pm. The series begins June 16 and runs
every Thursday through September 1.

Ride of Silence: Bike ride remembering cyclists
either killed or injured while riding a bicycle, starting
at the EuroStop Deli, TC, at 7pm, and continuing
eight miles throughout downtown, ending
back at EuroStop. Donations only (to help defray
$6/shirt cost). Co-hosted by the Cherry Capital

Grand Traverse Hiking Club 100 Mile Challenge:
Hike the entire North Country Trail route or catch
up with the group on a portion between today
and May 26. Trail starts at the Marilla Trailhead
and continues through Harvey Bridge, Old US 131
State Forest Campground, Sand Lakes and ending
